Course Description
WGA’s Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training transforms participants into business process improvement experts. With enough Green Belts (5-10 in an organization of 250 employees or more) the cost of operations can be significantly reduced by creating a culture of continuous improvement and improved Quality. This course provides critical knowledge and skill-building as participants learn and apply the tools of Lean to a significant work-related class project.
At the beginning of the course, students receive WGA proprietary Lean templates which allow them to track project progress. Participants study and learn the DMAIC framework as they elaborate their project tasks. Among the tools taught are Value Stream Mapping, Continuous Flow, the 7 wastes, SIPOC, 5S, Kaizen, and Standard Work. The instructor communicates offline with all students between classes to ensure project work is progressing per plan and that each team is understanding the material and process.
The final day wraps up project work as each participant formally presents their project to the class. After presentations, the certification exam is administered online followed by graduation.
Who should take this course?
Anyone responsible for Quality and continuous improvement projects. Some notable roles that are common candidates include Consultants of any kind, Project Managers, Human Resource representatives, PMO personnel, Manufacturing supervisors, and anyone responsible for process development and compliance.
